VIZIO VF551XVT 55-Inch XVT-Series TruLED 240 Hz SPS HDTV
I researched many high end LCD blacklit TV’s before I decided to purchase the VIZIO VF551XVT 55 Inch TruLED 240 Hz SPS HDTV. This particular model has the same quality and features found in current high-end Samsung and LG Models but at almost half the price.
The carrier service that delivered the TV was excellent. They brought the TV from the delivery truck into my home and unpacked it and placed it in my living room for me. They also took away the packing materials when they left.
I hooked my XBox, Blu-Ray DVD Player, Amplifier, and HD Cable Box to this TV quite easily. The instructions that came with the TV were very clear and easy to understand. I was able to program the remote control that came with this TV to operate my cable box, amplifier and DVD player in no time with minimal effort. I just followed the instructions in the manual.
I am very pleased with this TV. The picture is awesome, the features are great, the quality is excellent and it didn’t cost a fortune. I give it five stars.

Toshiba REGZA 47ZV650U 47-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with ClearScan 240, Black
i lucked out with the 47-Inch Toshiba REGZA 1080P 240Hz LCD HDTV
Delivered yesterday and Out of box HDMI Color and picture-perfect and not even yet calibrated.
2 yrs ago i bought a 40″ Samsung LCD HD with Best Buy’s 4yr warranty; good thing because the back-lighting started going out in shadowy patches. The GEEK SQUAD guy came ASAP and reported that the “accountants” decided it was more “cost-efficient” to swap the TV than fix it. I got credit for an equitable swap and went to store the next day. I was debating between another (larger) 46″ LDC Samsung or Sony when i saw a 47 “Toshiba REGZA 47ZV650U with Dolby sound. I was never happy with my Samsung audio so that got my attention. (the last Toshiba i had was a tape-deck! so this was a gamble) When i saw it had ClearScan 240(tm) with Backlight Scanning, i said, “I want that one.” (and paid the additional price)
So far my new Toshiba TV is fantastic! (i bought another store warranty. The old days of 20 year working TVs are long gone.)

LG 42LH90 42-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED Backlit LCD HDTV, Glossy Black/Infused Blue
We bought this TV as our entry into the world of HDTV. It was easy to install and set up. The picture quality is very good but the screen brightness leaves something to be desired. I’ve tried a number of things to brighten the picture to no avail. Understand it is not dim, just doesn’t have the dynamic range of brightness I expected from an LED TV. (Keeps me from giving it 5 stars.) Internal speakers are not very good. I fed the audio to my Sony surround sound receiver with excellent results.
TV has a Kensington lock slot with which I have it secured. It also has a hole in the TV base with which to tie it to the table. While this is touted in the manual as an anti-tipping feature, I replaced the supplied screw with a 3″ long screw into a support web of the entertainment center as an added anti-theft feature. On screen menu is straightforward and easy to navigate. Picture characteristics can be customized extensively although I enjoy the presets. Nice TV at a nice price.
