Samsung LN55A950 55 inch Full HD 1080p 120Hz LED LCD HDTV
Hi,
Got my Samsung a950 recently, and its an exceptional TV. Fantastic picture and sound.
Had a question on the settings…the Movie mode is the worst. Too dark. The Dynamic is too bright and colors too saturated. I tried to lower the backlight and contrast for Dynamic, but still didn’t feel right.
The Standard seems to be the best. Can someone let me know what ideal settings they use for Standard settings (backlight, contrast, brightness etc.), and also the settings they use for Detail settings and Picture settings ?
Thanks.

Samsung HLT5687SAX 56-Inch Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV
I purchased this item for stereoscopic content playback. This it does nicely. The quality of the picture is on par with the cost. This is a very nice tv for the price. I will note that I have not played any 2D content on it yet. The three HDMI inputs are very handy. I have driven my computer at 1920×1080 it looks pretty good as long as you are at least 6 feet back. Out of the box the image was not exact. I had to get the service code and really tweak the image. Out of the box the top of the image had a large noticeable arch. The good thing for me was that the service mode has a huge amount of control over the set. If you need stereoscopic playback there is no better solution for the price. If you are interested in 3D playback you will need a computer, stereoscopic active glasses and software. Almost any computer with DVI out will do. The glasses and software are around $250.
One other thing I love about the set is how light it is. One person on each end can pick it up with one hand easily.

Samsung LN-T4681F 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with LED Backlight
Best LCD I’ve seen to date, bar none. I did my homework for quite sometime and found the 81F series to be a hidden gem. This being the 2007 LED backlit series, it was $1,000 cheaper than the 2008 Samsung LN46A950 (120Hz). Thankfully, I got mine in time: the 2009 Luxia series Samsungs LNXXB8000 (240Hz), LNXXB7000 and LNXXB6000 do not have local LED dimming! What’s the point of having an LED backlight? Grab your A950 and 81F series while you can.
Only one notable con: sound quality. Certainly not a deal breaker, but you’ll definitely not want to depend on the internal speakers.
