LG 47LH90 47-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED Backlit LCD HDTV, Glossy Black/Infused Blue
Wonderful set. Picture is stunning with 1080 and 720 sources and looks good even with standard def. Set-up was straight forward. There is a picture wizard that gets you reasonable initial picture settings. Black levels are truly black, and depending on your brightness setting, you can make an all-black screen look like the TV is off. Colors appear to be accurate. The sweet-spot is quite wide, but once beyond 45 degrees or so off center, the blacks and colors fade a small amount. This being said, the picture is still quite good as you approach 70-80 degrees off center, and unless you are a true videophile, you won’t really notice that much. The matte screen was a selling point for me as we have a large window across from the TV and it doesn’t pose any viewing problems even with the sun shining right on the TV.
We also have an LG blue-ray player and the Simplink function works great. When you turn on the blue-ray player, the TV turns on and the input switches to the player automatically. Pretty neat.
I would definitely recommend this set to my friends.

I bought this TV about three weeks ago. I still have an analog cable connection, but I was surprised at how nicely the TV upscales it. The sound is pretty darn good for such a thin TV, but I do plan to hook it into a separate audio system.
My wife has a neurological disability and spends a lot of time with the TV. She really enjoys the new picture. One problem she has had is remembering which buttons to press on the increasingly complicated remotes that come with TVs and other electronics. LG included a very simple second remote that deals with only the basics. She is finding that a delight to use.
I also bought an LG BluRay player and connected it to the TV. With the TV off, I put a disc in the player and was surprised to see the TV turn itself on, ready to play the disc. That makes things even easier to use.
I can highly recommend this TV.

LG 55LH90 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED Backlit LCD HDTV, Glossy Black/Infused Blue
Pros: Excellent Picture. LED Back lighting makes it look amazingly real life.
Cons: It has a horrible Lip Sync problem. Anything I plug into it using any HDMI cable it has a good half a second of audio lag behind the video. Its not as bad using component cables but still is not perfect. And LG’s Customer service is horrible! Ive been waiting for months now for someone to come and fix after they promised me they would send someone.
Summary: I Would recommend it if you weren’t spending thousands of dollars to get a TV where the sound doesn’t match the video. I will probably buy a Samsung next time.
